A Smashing Spot of Tea

A Smashing Spot of Tea a poem

An angry mob in Boston threw
some snowballs at police
who called in reinforcements for
a slaughter in the streets.

Tea-smuggler Samuel Adams told
the Sons of Liberty
that none of all their lofty talk
could save his dear country.

The white men dressed as colored men
to protest on the sea
and smashed a million dollars worth
of private, proper tea.
