A Prayer for the Nations During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Prayer for the Nations

Our church elders take turns leading our congregation in corporate prayer during our Sunday morning worship gatherings. We’re doing this by video when our church cannot gather.

Today is my Sunday to pray. As I reflected on our sermon text, it struck me that Peter was mindful of the saints dispersed throughout the earth. He even named the regions to which he wrote—”Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.”

How easy it is for me to be concerned about the COVID-19 Pandemic only so far as it affects me. How easy it is to forget that many Christians face the pandemic is less developed, less stable nations. These are my family, citizens of the same eternal kingdom.

So, I decided to lead us in prayer for two nations where Christians are the minorities—Iran and India. (Follow those links to learn how to pray for each nation.) Please join me in praying for the nations.
